Brand ambassador programs are the fastest way to become a brand ambassador: you apply through a form, and the brand decides. When a brand has no programme, you pitch it directly. Below are 10 programmes with their official application pages, grouped by niche, with what each brand itself says about who qualifies and what you get. We checked every page on 2 November 2026.
What a brand ambassador does
A brand ambassador represents a brand for months, not for one post. You wear or use the products, show them to your audience and get paid in products, discounts, commission or cash. Keep three things apart:
- Brand ambassador: a longer relationship, often with products, events and set tasks.
- Affiliate: commission on sales through your link, no other duties.
- One-off brand deal: one paid post or Reel, and the job is done.
Many programmes mix the three. What you can charge per post is in how much Instagram influencers charge.

How to become a brand ambassador with no open programme
Most brands have no form. For Gymshark's athlete team, for example, we found no public application; the sign-up that is open is its affiliate programme. In that case you pitch the brand yourself:
- Pick brands you already use. A post with the product in your real routine is the best proof.
- Know your numbers. Brands ask for reach and engagement rate. Check your engagement rate for free so you quote a measured figure.
- Have a media kit ready. The post on how to build an influencer media kit shows what goes in it.
- Keep the message short. Who you are, who you post for, and the idea you have for the brand.
If you are not sure which brands fit you, the free finder get PR packages shows which brands work with creators like you. Creator Deals gives you brands that fit you, with the message written in your voice.
Common mistakes
- Paying to apply. Genuine programmes charge no fee. Sephora states that its team never asks for bank details while it reviews applications.
- Missing the window. On, Brooks and Sephora work with fixed dates. Put them in your calendar.
- Looking only at follower count. Daniel Wellington and Cotopaxi ask for active posting and fit, not a minimum number.
- Mistaking an affiliate link for an ambassadorship. A commission link is not a programme with products and tasks.
- Skipping the disclosure. The FTC's Disclosures 101 for Social Media Influencers says free or discounted products count as a material connection, and a platform's own disclosure tool may not be enough.
Conclusion
Apply first to the programmes whose products you already use, and note the deadlines. For every brand without a form, you need a measured engagement rate, a short media kit and a message that fits the brand. Creator Deals handles that last step for you.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many followers do I need to become a brand ambassador?
For most open programmes, no fixed number. Daniel Wellington says in its FAQ that any fan with a public, active profile can apply, with extra missions above 3,000 followers. Brooks asked for at least 2,000 followers for its 2026 programme. Check the terms on each brand's official page.
Do brand ambassadors get paid?
It depends on the programme. Many pay in products, discount codes and commission, and some pay cash: Daniel Wellington lists commission, gift cards and cash, and Insta360 pays for monthly posts. Student roles like the Red Bull Student Marketeer are regular part-time jobs.
What is the difference between a brand ambassador and an affiliate?
An affiliate earns commission on sales through their link and has no other duty to the brand. A brand ambassador represents the brand over a longer period, often with products, events and set tasks. Many programmes combine the two.
Do I have to disclose posts as a brand ambassador?
Yes, as soon as the brand gives you money, products or discounts. The FTC says a free or discounted product is a material connection and calls for a disclosure, and it adds that a platform's built-in disclosure tool may not be enough on its own.
